Why can't I reach you? My words don't touch your heart. My actions aren't seen by your soul. All my efforts enter you for mere seconds before slipping out again. So I repeat, why can't I reach you? Why can't you see? I try so hard to bring your gaze to my direction. I desperately grasp for your attention as you throw me aside again and again. Your short one word replies. Your lack of effort in conversation. All of this versus the invitations. The hugs where you pick me off the ground. That sparkle in your eyes and smile across your face. . . Why can't I reach you?
