You Matter to me

This is my opinion. You may take it or you can leave it here to rest on this computer screen. It doesn’t matter, because you are entitled to your opinion in the first place.

Your opinion matters.

I bet you have never seen that posted everywhere. For the past few years we have been told that our opinions don’t matter anymore. I was told in my college art class that my opinion as a person no longer mattered. I couldn’t help but give him the strangest look. He must have in haled some of the paint fumes from the oil paints we were using.

Some of you might agree with him. In this world our opinion doesn’t matter anymore. But do you really know what that means? Do you really understand what you are saying? What are you on right now? Wattpad, you are reading others people’s opinions. You might not like it or you might even enjoy the story you are reading, but right at that very moment that person’s opinion matters to you.

You may not agree to what they are saying, but you are reading it. Then it matters to you. If reading didn’t matter to you then why in the world would you even read it? That is the importance to writing. That is why it is so important.

What value are you if you have no opinion? What is your worth? I have God, my savior, but according to this world that is also my opinion and to this world my opinion doesn’t matter. If you have no opinion you have nothing. You might say you don’t have an opinion on anything in this life, but I am telling you that if that is so then you are nothing more than a carbon based life form moving around on earth. There is nothing you will have to look forward to in the end. Love, worth, beauty… they are all opinions.

If we lived in a world with no opinions we would live in an empty world. There would be no art, no fun, no movies, no food, no love, we would have nothing. For is it not all opinions? Life itself would be sucked out of us dry. For we could not choose to fall in love. For falling in love is an opinion. Why do you not find another spouse? Why would you even have a spouse? They are all the same any way. They all have eyes, a mouth, a nose, ears… They are all the same.

You might say that my opinion doesn’t matter. That in the end you would put this to the side and never think about it again. You will go on with your lives and post on facebook that everyone else’s opinion doesn’t matter. You are right in some ways. Your opinion shouldn’t be used to be hostel against over human beings opinion and you should not let others opinions about you hurt or change who you are. But saying that your opinion doesn’t matter is just another opinion. What your opinion is matters to your families, your love ones, and it matters to me. What you struggle with inside that everyone doesn’t seem to understand matters to me. If I say that your opinion matters to me than that means that your life and who you are matters to me.

You matter to me. Don’t you forget that. Never let this world say that you cannot have an opinion on something. If you don’t have an opinion then you are just another blade of grass in the wind swaying to whatever the rest of the world says. Choose something. Better yet choose to be you.



Then again this is only my opinion. Take it for what you want.
