"Kara, get over here and get your dress on! You must look good for the banquet tonight!" Mother said, eyeing me from where she sat at the foot of the bed. I sat on the ground in front of the fire, watching the flames lick the chimney.
"Yes, Mother," I murmured, standing up. She unhooked my evening dress, and helped me put my fanciest dress on. It was purple, with lace trimming at the bottom and long sleeves that puffed up at the ends. Mother curled my hair, weaving ribbons throughout my hair.
That night was the Royal Banquet night, where I was to be shown off to the whole kingdom as the "future queen". It was going to be a long night.
"Now get in the carridge, and make sure you pull up your skirts so they don't drag in the dirt."
I'm thinking that somehow Kara finds a ring that gives her lots of power. She will do ANYTHING to keep it. You can continue the story!
