Raivyn gave a sigh as she heaved her bag onto the back of the pick-up. She looked at her Mom and smiled warmly as she was enveloped in a hug. "Thank you Mom," She squeaked as her mother gave her a squeeze.

"You be careful Rai, your dad and I are nervous but you deserve this." Her Mom gushed and let her out of the hug but still hung onto her. Raivyn turned to look at her Dad. He shut the tail on the pick-up and tugged Raivyn out of her mother's grasp.

"She will be fine Kathryn. Let her go or we'll be late." He through an arm around Raivyn's shoulders and gave his wife a kiss on the cheek. "I will be back soon, but we need to go or Rai will miss the ship." Kathryn nodded and sniffed back tears. Raivyn climbed into the pick-up and turned to wave at her mother through the window. Kathryn waved furiously back at her.

"Drive careful Michael." She heard her Mom yell to her Dad. She looked at him and they shared a knowing smile as her father pulled away from the curb.

"I can't thank you guys enough for this trip. I must have been expensive."

"Don't you worry about the money, your mother and I are fine, we can afford to spoil our daughter for her present. Your birthday and graduation is all rolled into one. We're just proud of you. No one else your age achieved what you did in the time you did. Your abilities are growing stronger each day. Even I wasn't as good as you at your age.

They talked quietly for the rest of the trip, it ended in her dad giving her a big bear hug before she boarded the ship. A cruise. She had never been on one before and was truly excited. But nervous. She would be on it alone. She had full confidence she would make friends on board though. She walked on with everyone else and was directed to the elevators to take her to the floor she was on to find her cabin.

When she opened the door to her suite she smiled. It was nice. A double bed and small wardrobe. A cute little en-suite with a shower, toilet and sink. She threw her bag onto the bed and stared out the porthole. Water and the other side of the harbor greeted her. She was finally here. She cheered in excitement and pumped her fist in the air. Dancing around her cabin she unpacked the small suitcase and changed into something a bit more suitable to be sitting out on a deck in.

Then she exited her room, a towel wrapped around her waist and a book and keys in hand. She found a row of deck chairs near the pool deck and stretched out onto one and picked up her book and began to read.
Gage found himself lost in his books, unable to detect the difference between reality and the fantasy world he so often took refuge in when he was struggling emotionally.

Gage was always running to his books when life got tough. He had been this way since he was a very young child, Since he was first able to read. Whether his books be historical facts or a fantasy of goblins and ghouls he was known as a book worm which is the reason his friends were giving him a hard time on the cruise.

"Gage, put the book down and come out to the pool! We didn't come on this cruise to read! We came here to meet the ladies! Get you butt out here now!"

Gage barely heard the pleading voice of his long time friend Eric.
"Gage!...Gage! Seriously, If you don't come out and meet some of the other people on the ship Ill throw all of these books overboard!"

Gage heard this, any threats to his books came across loud and clear. "You touch my books and I will throw YOU overboard Eric!"

Eric knew that this wasn't an empty threat. Gage was very protective of his books. He was so protective that many years ago when Eric and Gage were still infants Eric ended up with a very unusual burn on his arm after Gage found he 'borrowed' one of his books without asking first.

Gage peered out from the book he was reading titled, "Mystics or Madness", just in time to see that Eric had bolted out of their shared cabin with one of his books.
As furious as Gage was he knew that this wasn't a place that he could openly use his talents. Instead he decided to chase after Eric the 'old fashioned' way. By foot.
Gage carefully placed a bookmark on his current page, closed the book and placed the book on the end of his bed. He laced his sneakers in a very unusual way and then darted out of his cabin room and after Eric.

I understand that i have made many many errors here but I often write at like 3am when I can't sleep.....That doesn't mean I am not tired though haha. OH AND BE THANKFUL I am not using shorthand :P
Raivyn looked up as one boy dashed past her. He was laughing and carried what looked to be a book in his hands. He stopped and turned around. Bending he placed his hands on his knees, clearly out of breath and giggling too much. Raivyn frowned and shook her head. He was kinda cute. Her best friend, Jessica, would have definitely tried to get his attention. And she probably would have gotten it too. She was beautiful and thin, but without much shape to her figure. Straight black hair to her waist and deep brown eyes. Olive skin to go with her Asian heritage. But Raivyn on the other hand was shorter than her friend with a little more weight on her, but she had the curves that won guys over. Her skin was very light and easily burnt, a smattering of freckles across her nose and natural deep red hair, usually pulled back into a ponytail behind her head with a straight fringe. Her green eyes shifted from the boy to her book and she sighed. She promised her friend she would get some sun and tan up a little. She stood and stretched and was promptly bowled over.

"Hey!" She landed in a tangle of arms and legs. She struggled to get clear of the person that had taken her out and tried to see who it was at the same time.

"Are you two alright?" Raivyn looked up at the boy that had run past her as he offered his hand. "Sorry Miss, my friend here is such a klutz, I shouldn't take him out anywhere at all. Such a menace to society." He smiled down at his friend who scowled up at him. Raivyn listened to his accent and smiled. He was Irish. Just wait till she told Jess this, she would die. "My name is Eric by the way and the human bowling ball is called Gage."

"Oh, uh, Raivyn." She was slightly taken aback but recovered quickly and shook their hands while she studied them. They were both a couple years younger than she was, she could definitely tell that by looking at them. "So where were you two headed in such a hurry?" She asked, wanting to seem friendly, afterall, she was here by herself and she didn't want to spend the whole trip alone. Making some friends was definitely needed sooner rather than later.
