[Introduction]
Aren’t You Glad You Didn’t Turn The Lights On? It was a normal day like any other, long, stressful and hectic. All Erica wanted to do was to climb in bed. As soon as that thought entered her mind so did the voice of her teacher telling her that there was a big quiz tomorrow. Failing would mean no credit for the class. Erica knew that if she didn’t get her credit that would mean no graduation and one more semester of college. Thinking of her warm cozy bed, she finds her self in the library studying for quiz. It had been a long study session…a whole 4 hrs! Erica was exhausted so she figured she’d turn in for the night. As she entered her dorm she noticed that the lights were off. Erica assumed that her room mate went to bed early. Trying her hardest she stumbled through the dorm getting a change off clothes and brushing her teeth, she figured she would just spend the night at her boyfriends house. The very next morning Erica returned to her dorm only to find it surrounded by police. They asked if she lived there. She replied “Yes…What’s going on?” the police officer told her to follow them into the crime scene. There Erica saw her best friend, her room mate lying in her own pool of blood. On the mirror next to her bed written in blood was, “Aren’t you glad you didn’t turn on the lights?” Chilled to find this Erica realizes that she was in the room when her friend was being murdered. Erica said to her self “Never again will I go in a room without turning the lights on.” |
