A poem I wrote about my dad
[Introduction]
There is a girl
Who sees the dark
No matter the brightness
Of life's glorious spark

A broken home
To go with her broken heart
A man she loved
Who loathed her from the start

Day and day again
That girl sat on her bed
Tears with stolen innocense
The tragedy screaming in her head

Can't you see her?
Hear her scream your name
Selfish to leave her alone
Never leaving her the same

You with the blue eyes
With the needle in your hand
Put down the addiction
And help that girl to stand

I need you dad
To listen to my voice
To know that I love you
And that you do have a choice.
