A desperate revolt lead by children. |
[Introduction]
After a hundred years of fighting, the war between Soir and Thraesh had come to a crucial point. The Thratians (pronounced thrayshan) had cut so completely is Soirish land the King Thorvis fled to the far south to make one last attempt to raise an arm and save his kingdom. He left his loyal subjects to the mercy of the invading imperialists reluctantly. Inside of ten years hundreds of villages had been razed, lives changed forever. Children became orphans, the rich poor, nobles enslaved, and bloodshed commonplace. A hate for the Soirish, long-nurtured by the Emperor, drives the Thratian soldiers to uncalled for cruelties. The only survivors are those who submit. There is little hope for the Soirish people. Since his flight to the south, not a soul has heard word from King Thorvis. Some are convinced he will never return. Some fight back, rag-tag groups of common people, but their uprisings are soon quenched. The Thratians are quick to squash any would-be resisters and viciously, in order to discourage anyone from following their example. They are confident they have stomped out the Soirish spirit. But it burns bright in the hearts of the youth. This is a story of children so young they can scarcely remember a world without hate and fear, yet so entirely convinced it exists that they begin a revolt that will come to shake the very foundation of the Thratian palace, and it begins here. Details: Soir is much like Europe in the Dark Ages, technologically-wise anyway. The Soirish were initially a peaceful people, though powerful, one of the few nations that stood a threat to Thraesh. They were known to be deeply religious people, though a decade under Thratian reign has changed that. Those who remember their religious roots are often too afraid to continue practicing as it has been outlawed under penalty of death. Thraesh is a land across the sea. The Thratians are militaristic people. Their hierarchy is entirely based off military status. Their emperor is the greatest conqueror of their time. This being so, they are an aggressive people generally. They like to create conflict in order to triumph so they can move up. Their god is honor, though they have a twisted sense of honor. They do not discriminate; an able bodied man, woman or child is considered a threat to them. Magic. There is no magic really; no one can summon fireballs from thin air or cast charms, but there are Talents. Basically Talents are just skills that one is really, really good at. For example, someone with the Talent of horsemanship would have a way with horses, an understanding of the beasts that is uncanny, making it easy for them to work with horses. I would like this to be primarily about the kids and their journey, but you are welcome to create any kind of character you like. I do like bio-blocks so please add one before you get started. There are only a few rules: First and foremost—have fun! Second—add within five days or get skipped. If I have to skip you three times in a row, you’re out of the campfire. This project is for people who want to write. Third—no God Modding! You’re character can have their strengths but they better have their weaknesses too. Besides that, just keep within the rating and it’ll be great! |
