I WRITE A POEM FOR CHRISTMAS EVERY YEAR.
[Introduction]
MERRY CHRISTMAS
CHRISTMAS

IT DIDN'T FEEL LIKE CHRISTMAS TIME

FUNDS WERE LOW BARELY HAD A DIME

WENT TO THE MALL FOR SOME CHRISTMAS CHEER

BUT HAPPY HOLIDAYS WAS ALL YOU COULD HERE

THE TREES WERE LIT WITH THEIR USUAL FLARE

BUT CHRISTMAS WAS NOT IN THE AIR

PRICES WERE UP AND SMILES WERE DOWN

I STOOD STILL , TOOK A LOOK AROUND

NO HUSTLE AND BUSTLE, NO EXCUSE ME'S TO HEAR

WAS CHRISTMAS NOT COMNG TO SEE US THIS YEAR?

SO I LEFT THE MALL AND WENT FOR A DRIVE

A BRIGHTLY LIT CHURCH WAS WHAT I SPIED

SO I WENT IN AND QUICKLY SAT DOWN

HERE WAS CHRISTMAS, IT WAS ALL AROUND

NO TREES, NO PRESENTS BUT IT ALL WAS JUST RIGHT

CHRISTMAS HAD COME TO ALL THAT NIGHT

BABY JESUS HAD TAKEN HIS RIGHTFUL PLACE

THE SINGING AND SMILES ALL GRACED THIS PLACE

CHRISTMAS IS NOT A FULL SHOPPING CART

IT COMES FROM WITHIN AND LIVES IN OUR HEARTS.
