It is 'difficult' to self assess writing (unless it is ab-fab brilliant = almost never). Other people's response can indicate whether a poem is publishable or a keeper. So... for the 30 day image contest: These days received a 10: 4, 7, 8, 11, 12. "Ex bananas [120] /30:4.1&2/" "Umbilical forever [124]" "Knock on wood [127]" ""My poodle made me drop my paper in a puddle" [131]" "O sunlit child of darkened skies [133]" These received a 9: 10, 15, 16, 18, 30. "What she remembers before the lamp gutters out [130]" "Stories of stone [138]" "Angels at the Masquerade [139]" "Beside you [147]" "Homing Pigeon" It went as low as 5... but we all have those days! I will not end up in 1st place... but that wasn't my goal. The opinions of the judges is useful. It'll help sort the poems and short prose. Thanks to everyone. |
