L'aura del campo

'é a lua, é a lua, na quintana dos mortos'
♣ Federico García Lorca ♣

Higgins Street Bridge, April 25th 2009, Missoula, Montana

L'aura del campo. A breeze in the meadow. So it began the last day of Spring, 2005; on the 16th day of the month of Light of the year 162. This is a supplement to my daily journal written to a friend, my muse; notes I do not share. Here I will share what the breeze has whispered to me.

Life is complicated, but I'll make this simple

Mountains in winter: snowclad and frigid.
Mountains in summer: rock-climbs and camping.
Mountains year round, lifting you spirits.

Your mountains.
Your spirits,
Not mine.

I long for the prairie's emerald whisper in spring.
I ache for the grassland's dry rasp in autumn.
Open to sky, an unbound horizon, singing a meadowlark's song.

My grasslands.
My spirit.
My song.

Toad to a turd

         an odoriferous ode

O Shit!
Your final chapter comes out in bits.
Your softness caresses my tenderness,
your hardness abrades it.

Oh, what remains to be unseen.
Was it carrots, corn or peas?
At least it wasn't blue (like frosting)
...or green...like...well...

Ah, sweet joy of release.
Not that I would ever taste you! Puh-leeze.
Your presence perfumes close air, señor.
Open a window! Open a door!

I dare to stare at you—lying there.
O Brown Sausage! O Smelly Turd!
Better to be gone with a noisome flush
than—like a fart—forever heard.

Den Syttende Mai

We young cows moo;
we old doves coo;
we clocks chime in: cuckoo, cuckoo.

On this special day,
each year in May,
We children march, hurray, hurray!

Needs more verses but if I don't post as is... 17th of May is Grunnlovsdagen, Constitution Day in Norway (1814).
