I know exactly what you mean, why makes our Sunday evening so depressing? I try to help mine by watching certain television shows that helps me release my tears. Sometimes it helps and other times it doesn't.

I hope you keep that commitment. This type of response is really pretty rare. I've been reviewing this way for five years, and don't believe I've received more than ten of this kind. The majority are appreciative and it is definitely worth the occasional bad apple. I don't mean it won't bother you, because it will, but it shouldn't stop you. Just hold your breath and review another.
Re: the poll. If we all ignore the badly written pieces, who is left to help them learn? Why are we here and why do we read?
I admire that commitment. I am trying to work towards doing more reviewing, but I keep getting scared off by stories like this. I guess it is like all things and you've gotta take the bad with the good.
I've seen that Oprah show, and whenever I think back to it, I still find myself snorting. I'm not saying I agree with everything you say here, it's just that it's pretty funny to watch Cruise looking so stupid

I worked for 4 1/2 miserable years as a 911 complaint writer. Worked the 11-7 shift and hated it. Loved most of my co-workers, but the calls were unnerving. This was before enhanced 911 and just getting an address out of a drunk or any idea what the problem was was frustrating.
However, the city will lose. In the early 80s, my city lost a similar case when the police went to the wrong address. Women was killed.
I found this entry more than a little heart-tugging. This girl reminds me of myself at that age. Because of problems at home, mostly parents seperated, neither really wanting me and becoming involved in alcohol abuse I missed alot of school time during my seventh and eighth grade year. Hopefully she will be able to get back on track. I'm sure that there is more there then is being seen.
