I am starting a new chapter in my life.....
I started job hunting today...... sort of.
I am working with my new friend Audrey (employment specialist) to get ready to go job hunting.
We're going to be redoing my wardrobe (somewhat) and doing practice interviews and such.

This is where the journey will be documented for posterity.

I also will throw in news about my writing now and again as that is what the site is for.

Okay, so there are scraps of anything that might affect my life ...

Went out on job development with Audrey this afternoon.

Computers were down at CMH, so Audrey couldn't access the list of jobs she wanted to take me to for inquiries/applying. She also could not access my resume to print it off (which it needs to be updated anyhow).

We went to Orthopedic Associates and found out that we need to drop off a resume to apply.

We went to Goodwill Industries and picked up an application for me to fill out.

We went to Menards and I had to fill out the application there. I think they were doing on the spot interviews, but we just filled out the application and left. I don't think I'm going to hear from them. I filled out a lot of things wrong and my references are non-existent. I doubt any of my former jobs will remember me fondly, if at all,

I wore a black dress with a grey sweater over it. The dress was long. It didn't feel right, especially after Terry told me it was her dress.

I can't wait to be able to go get some descent clothes for interviewing and working.

I thought I put an entry in here on Monday?????? Oh well.

Yesterday I met with Audrey again. We went over my resume (sorry thing that it is) and things that I could be asked in an interview. There were a lot of questions between the two.

I tried to dress the part, but she didn't say anything. Probably because of the leggings.

Last time we had met I had taken notes. I took my notebook with me but for some reason didn't take it out.

Audrey did say that I answered the questions great. I was honest and the answers were well thought out.

On the writing front, I am at a standstill. I've to the end of Draft 3 of "Rage of Envy Rewrite ProjectOpen in new Window. and the rewriting process.

Now comes the pushing onward. I've hit a block on it. I think it is because I am working on too many projects at once again. I've been working on RoE, and working on "Nezoom 2024Open in new Window. in World Weaving Workshop. Now with October coming up, I plan on working on Nezoom for October Novel Prep Month. I think I'm going to set RoE aside until I see where Nezoom is going.

Looking for work and getting a job and working is going to start cutting into my time too.

I'm doing what I need and want to do. I just hope everything falls into place.

I was supposed to meet with Audrey last week, but I thought the appointment was for 1:00 pm.
Turned out is was for 11:00 am. Audrey told me today not to worry about it, but I still feel it was a bad first impression.

We met today in The Lotus Cafe inside CMH. She looked up to see if they still had my resume and if it was too long since I last worked with the program to skip the paperwork. It was too long so we started almost from scratch. Something tells me I don't want to know what is on the resume.

We wrote down some things I wouldn't do, which was good. No fast food. No cleaning toilets.
Then we wrote what I would like to do: Anything to do with writing, of course, Editing, Clerical work, Mentoring and Counseling.
My main goal is basically the same as it was: To become a Peer Support and work my way up to a Therapist.

She told me BWROC offers free classes in Addiction counseling. I'll have to check it out.

We filled out a request for a voucher for Salvation Army and she is going to see the next time Harbor Impact is open.

She gave me something to think about: The first thing an interviewer usually asks is "Tell me a little about yourself." Definitely something to keep in mind.

We're meeting again Thursday, September 26th at 11:00 am.
