Wonderful poem that links footprints to bits and pieces of our memories over the years.
As we get older, we do leave a mark behind - footprints if you will - and even as they fade away, they'll always linger and be a reminder of what we once were.

Amethyst and emerald,
ruby red and agate,
jewels on vibrant wings
flashing in the sun,
sipping at the flowers’ spring,
ever mobile to and fro,
they sail the febrile air,
attendants to the day.
