Wonderful poem that links footprints to bits and pieces of our memories over the years.
As we get older, we do leave a mark behind - footprints if you will - and even as they fade away, they'll always linger and be a reminder of what we once were.

I am transported back
to childhood days
when I stood with extended arms
hank of yarn entrapped
and a single strand
from there to my mother’s hands
rolling the yarn, rolling,
into the required ball.
