Wonderful poem that links footprints to bits and pieces of our memories over the years.
As we get older, we do leave a mark behind - footprints if you will - and even as they fade away, they'll always linger and be a reminder of what we once were.

they promised yesterday
it would be here tomorrow
yet here sit I in sorrow
the day has reached its eve
