Wonderful poem that links footprints to bits and pieces of our memories over the years.
As we get older, we do leave a mark behind - footprints if you will - and even as they fade away, they'll always linger and be a reminder of what we once were.

Purple, once a favourite,
has sunk in my estimation.
The ladies may toy with it
in their old age and freedom,
but it seems too loud for me
and I, in advanced dotage,
prefer the quieter tones
of blues and greens.
