Just things that I think about now and then.

This is the first blog entry for me. Hopefully I will get it right, or at least head in that direction.

I am enjoying this community immensely. I have found a few kindred souls, and so far everyone has been welcoming. I am enjoying reviewing other's work. I hope to learn as I go from the reviews of my work. It is fun to see other's points of view, and inspires me to try to do my best.

I am looking forward to my journey here on Writing.com

The otters weren't so bad. In fact, I prefer their company over that of some people. Good conversation, like common sense, is likely on the endangered species list. And even though this is not the place or time, I'd like to add that conversation does not include showing me YouTube videos. Sorry, but I had to add that as it's something that really pets my peeve.

Anyway, enough rambling on. What I intended to say is that I believe it's perfectly fine to enjoy Halloween. I believe we are what we think, so as long as you don't believe in the hocus-pocus you're fine.

Golden portulaca blooms in the window well. Ancient geraniums nod their scarlet heads. White smoke fills leaden skies. We sigh but know the rains will come.

It'll be perfect football weather for the game. The markets shift to melons, apples, squash. Autumn beckons but green leaves say not so soon. Patience is a virtue.

Poetry will capture the moment.

"Yes, we are free to choose our leaders, but we are not free from the consequences of our choices." So true.

How do we get a choice of anyone but the two main candidates though? I sure would prefer more options.

I didn't mind them when they were done in a location away from people's homes and their pets like ผีKåreEngaในMontana

said over a lake. Here they have the streets blocked and people are drinking setting off fireworks with absolutely no safety controls in place. The next morning, our yard has garage strewn all over it like the metal tips and unburned paper and naturally no one goes around to clean up. My poor cats are absolutely terrorized by the sounds.
