Take UP Your Cross Prompt: How much does Godâs Word influence my heart? Answer: It has a huge influence on my heart. I hide the word in my heart as I read it and study it. It can't be taken from me. It affects the way I think and live. It is always at least in the back of my mind all the time. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Prompt Throughout your life, which movies and TV shows left some kind of an effect on you? I had a major addiction to Saved By The Bell. I absolutely loved that tv show. I would say that is the show I was most obsessed with. My parents watched a lot of westerns. I loved to watch James Stewart movies. There was just something unique about him to me that I really liked and could relate to. Well mom bought these two westerns with him in it and I think I made her regret it. I watched them over and over again until I could almost recite them word for word. They were âThe Far Countryâ and âBend of the Riverâ. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Today we cruised through the Delta quadrant with Captain Jane Way and the Voyager crew. We found this star RookieTea (14) and visited the planet Show don't tell, they say. (E)
What does this mean? I am honestly still trying to figure that out. I love this poem though. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Day 3220: September 7, 2021 Prompt: "Science is a way of life. Science is a perspective. Science is the process that takes us from confusion to understanding in a manner that's precise, predictive and reliable - a transformation, for those lucky enough to experience it, that is empowering and emotional." Brian Greene Use this quote to inspire you blog entry. Science can definitely be interesting. For some, it may be a way of life, but not for all. I can see it being a matter of perspective. Empowering and emotional I can see too when witnessing it at work.

PROMPT September 7th You have been chosen to speak at a Zoom conference concerning your chosen field. Over 500 people will attend. Each of them is new to your field and are waiting to hear words of advice from you about this field. What will you say to them to them concerning things you wish youâd known about the industry when you were getting started? This is a tough prompt for me. Talking to people on zoom, I wouldn't have a problem with. However, I have spent most of my time working different jobs. I have done fast food, dietary aide, telemarketing, nurse aide, home health aide, retail sales, pharmacy tech, cashier, inbound telecommunications, and customer service. I would need to know what subject I would speak on. Giving a lecture on customer service is possible I suppose, but I really don't want to do that. I could talk about the food industry, that's at least more interesting to me. What I would probably rather talk about would be religious beliefs or why I think young people need to go to college or at least make some kind of plan to save money and follow through. I may just write about that because it is something I am finding myself more and more passionate about. If I write about the fast food industry, I am afraid that may not be as interesting. I might tell them to rethink their situation. Hello, Everyone is here today because you think you might be interested in making a career out of the food industry. I will tell you the truth, this is a rough industry to work in. Kitchens are hot. Kitchens are where most food is prepared to eat. You are surrounded by food in the food industry. Therefore, it can be challenging to maintain a healthy diet. If you don't maintain a healthy diet, you will certainly regret it later in life. The pay in the food industry is not the greatest. The money is found in specialized positions and management. It can be high demand for little pay. You wonât just be cooking and preparing food. There will need to be dishes washed, floors swept and mopped, and equipment cleaned. You will likely be involved in the maintenance of the cleanliness of the facility you work in. Working in the food industry, you will need to know food safety and food handling techniques. You will need to prepare for and pass inspections. You will need to know how to deal with complaints from customers, patrons, client's, or residents. You also have to know how to work and get along with your fellow employees. At any time, you may have to be prepared to deal with someoneâs sour attitude while keeping your own in check. Food industry work can be enjoyable too. Some of us enjoy cooking, working around food, and pleasing the people we are serving the food to. Just know there are other less satisfying aspects of this career. I don't recommend it, but if that's what you want to do, then do it to the best of your ability. Don't take out your frustrations on the people and other employees around you. Know when it is time to walk away and cool off. |
Day Seven: AN INCONVENIENT BIRTHDAY It is a bit inconvenient to share a birthday with a major holiday or to have your birthday close to it. I can give several examples of this. A cousinâs birthday is December 25th. My birthday is December 22nd. My best friendâs birthday is November 26th. This sometimes happens to be Thanksgiving Day. It can be very difficult to plan birthday parties around the above-mentioned dates. I can't say it hasn't been interesting, though for me personally, I didn't have many birthday parties. My cousin usually celebrates her birthday on December 31st or she really wouldn't get one of her own. I tried to throw my best friend a party a couple of years ago and only two guests showed up. Everyone else seemed to be out of town at the time. That was a bit disappointing. My mom planned a huge birthday party for me when I turned five years old at a local McDonald's. She invited all my friends from church. Only two showed up. She never gave me another birthday party again. She always said it wasn't worth it if only two people would show up. I ended up baring a lot of my mother's disappointments. You have to be prepared to deal with disappointments in life. So only two people showed up? It was still fun and enjoyable on both of the cases I mentioned above. You have to be prepared to make the most of it or you are going to just be miserable like my mother was. She was very easily offended. As a result, she was offended often. A lot of times, Christmas parties happened on my birthday, so I made the most of it and partied like it was my birthday because it was. At least I had some kind of party. đ¤ˇââď¸ There were times it was like an early Christmas. My parents couldn't decide what they wanted to give me for my birthday, so they let me open two or three early Christmas presents of my choosing. Also on the bright side, I rarely had to attend school on my birthday and when I did it was usually Christmas parties all day. My birthday always fell very close to the beginning of Christmas break. I always felt it was special to have a birthday so close to when we celebrated the birthday of Jesus. I always found a way to enjoy my birthday. Although the year my grandmother died was a bit challenging. That birthday is kind of blurry now. I do remember driving around with my family that evening to look at Christmas lights. It was a welcome distraction for all of us. That was something grandma had always enjoyed doing. My birthday seemed like a great time to do it. I remember one year being the donkey in the Christmas play at church on my birthday. When I first told my best friend about it, she teasingly said, âWhat? Were you the donkey?â I laughed and said, âWell, actually I was.â so I actually did play the part of a donkey on one of my birthdays. Sometimes you just have to look for the humor in life. Word Count 533 A birthday inconvenient, Inconvenient as can be. No parties are sufficient When celebrating me. My birthday near a holiday, Inconvenient to celebrate Due to the jingle bell way. Born this day was my fate. I celebrate me every chance I get. Inconvenient as it may be, My life still matters yet. I still enjoy being me. For the poem Line count 12 Word count 56 |
