It's funny, but while music with lyrics always helps me get in the right mood for a particular type of story, I have an easier time writing with instrumental music playing. Sometimes I can do music with lyrics, but most of the time, it slows me down. I do like to have theme songs that get me in the right mode for certain characters, though. Often, I'll have a song that I'll play before I sit down to work on a longer story that takes multiple days to write. It helps me find the right mood/voice. For my NaNo novel, it was Halsey's "Tradition". For Galatea, it was a Billie Eilish song called "everything i wanted". For my recent Screams story Escape, it was Digital Daggers "The Devil Within".

Come now, Ray! This morning someone paid for my coffee before I pulled up to the Starbucks window. Made my day. And I paid for the person behind me. Hopefully it made theirs.

While they hardly solve the world's energy conundrum in one earth-shattering change, the tiniest little things sometimes make all the difference in the world, and we're all capable of making them happen.

Besides, Netflix and two-day delivery from Amazon rock! XD

At that point in my life, I'll be yelling at shadows and trying to remember if I now wear diapers or not.

But somewhere in that squishy pink thing locked in my skull, I'll remember you. I'll remember all of you.

Road Trip

PROMPT November 15th

You and your two best friends are going on a month-long road trip. Where are you going? What three items must be in your luggage for this trip to abe a great experience for you.

If two of my best friends are coming on a road trip with me, there's only one direction we'll be driving in. And that's west, baby.

I've never been to California but from what I hear it's pretty much amazing all around. Aside from the obvious problems, that is. I think both of 'em would be down for an adventure, if I asked them. So what would we need on this cross country trek?

First off, we would need some money.

Secondly, we would need one sweet RV.

And thirdly we would need tons of tobacco leaves for... reasons.

So yeah, that's my road trip list. Not very imaginative, but then again I'm not feeling especially whimsical after that wild weekend.
