Thank you! It has been a long time coming for us! We were almost afraid it wouldn't ever happen. We always seemed to be a step behind the housing market (and the rental market for that matter lol). Going from a 660 sqft apartment to our house has been the best thing in my life lately! It still feels like a dream some days.

It sad how very little we know about the brain and how it works, other than the extreme basics (electricity! and salts!). It would be interesting how somethings affect it while others don't. How some people we don't really think about enter our dreams but those we love and cherish don't (unless there are tragic, traumatic, or other extreme reasons). At least with my experience in my dreams. I think that it is interesting how some people see dreams in color and some don't (I do and just assumed everyone did!). Some hear sounds in their dreams and some don't. And then there are some who dream and those who do not. My mom said that she used to and when I had gotten older she told me that she didn't dream anymore, but that she'd heard we dream every night, so she assumed maybe she just didn't remember dreaming (She did have a dream when I was like 12~ years old when her sister's husband passed away and she went to stay with her for the weekend, she thought she was awake and had heard me call for her, but didn't see me and assumed it was one of her nieces calling for her mom and her sister had just gone to sleep and didn't want to wake her so she didn't say anything. Come to find out it wasn't either of them and she wondered if she just dreampt it, even though it seemed like she was awake at the time. I always thought that was interesting).

You did have some very interesting dreams. I kind of waver between wondering if our dreams are the playthings of our subconscious or they do bring something to attention due to our and everything else's connection in the creation. Maybe someday, we'll get to know the truth.

I think this year has messed everyone up with Covid. Everyone in my house got it, some were asymptomatic, some of us got hit bad. I've had lingering effects now that just makes it so hard to write. Now where I live, we went into complete lockdown last week, the first province in Manitoba to do it for this second wave, and it just so rejecting, but you got to do what you got to do. Keep on trying to write, it will come back to you, you were always an amazing writer.

Yeah, this year has been pretty much a wreck. I have ideas, but no energy or motivation to write beyond blogging. But that's not related to the pandemic for me. University completely sapped my creativity. Too much times spent studying, writing papers, working with spreadsheets, etc.

I thought I'd be able to get my creative writing flow back being at work this year, but then the pandemic happened and even though I'm working from home, I feel totally suffocated after months of just sitting inside. Definitely cabin fever vibes that aren't conducive for motivation.

It does sound like Matt, and likely you too, could've had covid at the beginning of the year. It has pretty much been established that it was widespread by that time, but testing wasn't really a thing then.

I hope you'll find some way to write. I know it sucks to have ideas and not be able to get them out.

- Awesome! I was figuring it was more using your fears in plot related things, so yay!

- I've always loved mythology too! It's been fun to use them in a fun way. I can't wait to get to where I can actually begin writing and implement them! I'm hoping it comes out as good as I have in my head.

Reality Shows?

Prompt:
Do you like Reality TV Shows like Survivor? Write about this in your Blog entry today.

Goodness, no. None of them ever appealed to me. It's not like I'm above cheesy things, but I need some kind of intelligent structure going on. I still can't believe that the dating ones are still happening. Those ones are the WORST. I guess because they're so predictable and the non-good petty gross behavior (nothing like grown ass women acting like desperate children fighting over a man they don't even like and the winner will divorce in like a month after the wedding or even when it's reversed and it's a woman the men are vying for and it's just like 12 year old boy behavior) isn't even interesting. It just reminds me of girls in high school crying over some idiot boy they were "dating" for a day. Granted, I hated that crap even when I was in high school, but at least being a teenage girl it's justifiable. If there was some kind of humor or like a "straight man" in one of those shows, maybe? I just can't.

The others...? Eh. They just aren't interesting to me. Mathew liked Survivor for awhile and I tried to watch it when he did. That show I can understand why it's still on. There's some characters that are interesting and the whole premise can be interesting, but learning about how much of the behavior and drama is forced and how absolutely fake the whole thing is, including sometimes who wins or loses, who stays or goes, just really turned me off. If it's all going to just be written, then I'd rather just watch a movie.

Big Brother I never got, though the weird drama I guess I can understand why that thing is still going, but I just never connected with that kind of stuff.

It's funny because I usually hate talking about my opinions on reality TV because it makes me feel like I'm really pompous about TV and I'm not.

It's just not my cup of tea. It's not my type of garbage.

I have wished they'd do something interesting with it, but it's always the same rehashed topics and themes. I am really surprised though that new shows still pop up and that reality TV is still something that continues to exist. I had always figured it would've died off, just because it really is just kind of the same thing. But here we are, nearly or maybe have (I can't remember if it was pre or post 2000 when they started) met the 25 year mark of reality television. I guess at this point it will be interesting to see how long Big Brother and Survivor go on for and whether or not they'll last longer than the genre does (will there be a resurgence in popularity for those shows?).
