According to Dictionary.com a saga can be defined as the following: a medieval Icelandic or Norse prose narrative of achievements and events in the history of a personage, family, etc.
Essentially, I think that definition sums up one thing I want to do with this blog: talk about myself. But, also, I kind of like the vibe it gives because I love Scandinavian things (especially concerning Norway and Iceland). The thing is? I have done blogs in the past about writing. While I intend to continue blogging about my writing process, I also want to branch out and talk about other things. However, this is my first time blogging in this format. In essence, this blog is also an experiment of sorts.
I have lived in Crete (near Lincoln), Kansas and Oklahoma. Tornadoes and violent weather are a way of life that keeps everyone humble and supportive of each other.
My degree is in Biology and I have taken courses in linguistics. I (Molde dialekt) kan talar berre litt norsk. Farmora mi var svenska.
I'm gay so living in small towns many years ago was "interesting".
I was in Mayfield, Kentucky once when the sirens sounded and I had nowhere to go. My son and I hid under the coffee table. It sounded like a train going over and it rattled the walls but did not touch down. I was praying for protection loud and clear.
I live on the west coast and we have wildfires, mudslides, and earthquakes to worry about. A few years ago, a fire wiped out a town less than a mile from us. Several of my cousins lost their homes and businesses. In a blink of our eyes, poof
This is a well written account of your experience.
It doesn't matter to which belief system you belong as long as your heart's in the right place. And from your words in this blog post, I sense your heart's in the right place. Best wishes with what you wish to do.
It's never easy, but if you have even some support, You can get through this. The thing I think I mean is - don't try to go it alone. That way leads to darkness. So glad you are finding your people.
Remember to be in the moment always. We aren't intended to be perfect everyday so if one of those classes stresses you out, keep in mind the next day will be better. Breathe.
I think as humans we put so much pressure on ourselves to be perfect each and everyday we lose sight of the little things that make living incredible like enchiladas or that crazy snowstorm or even that chemistry assignment that inspired new thinking.
Wishing you an enjoyable school year!
Awesome. I am inspired by your courage. It isn't so much choosing one faith to me, I refused for most of my life and even now to label my faith--how can we when it can be so all encompassing? I will learn more about your new faith, as well as your new identity and gender and how it affects you. Truly hoping your family is supportive! It must be difficult from such a biblical background. I have SO MUCH I want to ask and share and learn from you, hopefully you'll be patient as my one hand heals from surgery and I prepare for my right (doiminant) hand to have its surgery by years end. I can type but not without it catching up to me later and typos. Do you welcome discussion here, or? So nice to be back. I am not getting the automatic fill-ins probably my internet is too slow...so hopefully my memory serves!
