Alaska Journey (week Eight)

A
visit
Alaska
waiting 63 Years
finally got there
and I felt underwhelmed
just too rustic and wild
The last frontier and all that
Majestic beauty all around me
but still would not want to move there at all

Yes I would not want to move to Alaska
Too damn cold in the winter months
Too much summer light all night long
Too expensive to live there
too wild and rustic
nothing there I can see
to attract me back
Alaska
a big
Meh

Black cats hunting birds
Black cats hunting birds
Birds fly fast away
Away they go sky
Why is this the way

Mad cats playing in my yard

Mad cats playing in my yard
The birds fly Away
Fleeing the remains of the Day
As the cats prowl and become a mad bard

The mad cats playing in the yard
The birds fly away
Fleeing the remains of the Day
As the cats prowl and become a mad bard

Just another day of fun in the back yard
Just more mad cats birds flying away
the birds lost as they pray
that the cats will never leave the yard
the mad cats playing in my yard

Sweet as Heaven
But hot as hell itself
Love It

Lion Desires Punnett Form
Dark Dreamscape Entry

Lion
Wild Beast
In
Dark jungle
Finally emerging to hunt
At dawn
Hungry
For breakfast
Human-meat

Dark Dreamscape

I woke up
In a room
With a hideous monster
Walking me like a dog

In the room
Were monsters from the deepest depths of hell
Everyone in the room
Has been transformed except me

The Chief of them all
Wears a Trumpian mask

Complete with orange hair
Half human half pig

His deputy
Wears the face of Putin

But his body
Half human, half horse

The other creatures wear masks
Many of them wear
Green Pepe the alt-right
Symbolic frog masks

And have T-shirts
Bearing alt right slogans
And Nazi symbols

And as they prance about
They chant alt. Right slogans
And neo-Nazi chants
Jews will not Replace us

And the rest of these creatures
Are hideous ugly beasts
With only a vestige of humanity left

And these monsters are engaged
In all sorts of foul evil deeds

The Trumpian Pig leads the charge
Starts engaging in sodomy with Putin
Who chases after people
Cutting off their heads with his sword

They turn on to their fellow creatures
Raping and killing each other
and eating their fellow creatures
All night long

Then they attack me
Screaming
Jews will not replace us

And I wake up
Screaming

As the sun comes up
Just another nightmare

The central mystery of my life
A dream that has haunted me
Dreamt of the girl in the dream
One day she walked off a bus
And into my life

Stormy’s Poetry Contest

Anticipation of the dawning day
Builds and builds
Growing ever stronger
As I think of my impending marriage

I go out and buy chocolate
Look at wedding Flowers
Pick my wedding ring
with my beloved

as we sit and contemplate
our future life together
Sitting in a bar
Listening to violin music

Filled with anticipation
And fearing that
My wedding will be
An epic clumsy disaster

Winnie the Pooh Meets the Grimm Reaper
For writing.com Dreamscapes contest
Winnie the Pooh Meets the Grimm Reaper

Short version for the darkscape contest

Winnie the Pooh cosmic bear
And his sidekick Sammy the Squirrel
Were sitting outside after lunch
Watching the world go by

Saying hello to all their friends
Who stopped by to chat
The air grew cold
A big storm was approaching

Winnie looked up
And saw a gigantic black bat flying
Straight out of hell itself
A man dressed in black riding on its back

The bat landed
Unloading its passenger
The man came up to Winnie and said,
“Are You Winnie the Cosmic bear?”

“that is who I am
This is Sammy the squirrel
What can we do for you
And who are you anyway?”

The man dressed in the black robe,
Perturbed at this act of defiance
Stood up and raised his scythe in the air
and said to Winnie and Sammy,

“I am the Grimm Reaper
Sent from the heavens
Per our rules and regulations
And it is time for you”

“But I am not ready to go
Lots of things to do
People to meet
Honey to eat”

“Mr. Bear you are on my list
See here you are” and showed him the list
Winnie looked at the list
And demanded to see a lawyer

Winnie stood up
Growled for good measure
And ran off into the forest
The Grimm reaper caught up to him

Grabbed him
And threw him
On the back of the cosmic bat
And flew into the setting sun

Poor Winnie was never seen again
He was missed
Sammy led the wake
And all cried all day

Hi all,

This week's form is a little bit more intricate than our previous two. I have included what the stanza pattern looks like in addition to the explanation.

Form: Cywydd llosgyrnog (ku-with los-gear-nog)
Number of lines: Down to the individual poet
Rules: A 12th century Welsh form written in six-line stanzas. Each stanza is comprised of two lines of eight syllables and a third line of seven syllables. Lines 1 and 2 rhyme and cross-rhyme with syllable 3 or 4 of line 3. This pattern is then followed for the next three lines. Lines 3 and 6 also rhyme.

This gives a stanza pattern of:

x x x x x x x a
x x x x x x x a
x x a x x x b
x x x x x x x c
x x x x x x x c
x x c x x x b

Dangerous Delusions All Day

Dangerous delusions all day
I sit by the dock of the bay
I sit by the bay with dark thoughts
Watching the world walk on by me
Watching the beautiful woman
Looking at the woman smile at me

Strange Cat Watching Me

A cat sits on the edge of a bed
Watching me watching him
Both of us thinking
What sort of strange creature this is
That has invaded our personal space
Upending our daily routines

The cat came up to me
Staring at me
with his soulful eyes
Boring into my very soul
Looking for answers
To these dark fundamental questions

The cat smiles a mysterious smile
And purrs in contentment
Having found an answer of sorts
And indicates that we can be friends
As long as I know
That he is the boss of me

And I pet him
Acknowledging
the time honored
Ritual of human cat interaction
That dates
back to the dawn of time

When humans and cats
First became aware
Of the other
Strange creature
that shared
our planet

Form: Rictameter
Number of lines: 9
Rules: Rictameter has a scheme similar to the Cinquain. Starting your first line with a two syllable word, you then consecutively increase the number of syllables per line by two. i.e. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 Then down again, 8, 6, 4, 2. The final line has the same two syllable word you began with.

Deep Fakes

deep fakes

no doubt the Russians are to blame
