Thoughts, we all have them. What is yours?
What is on your mind? I love all type of topics and will talk about almost anything! So, what is happening with you lately?

If anyone who reads my blog knows the correct way to post a video (see my Stuff entry below), would you share with me. I have tried to find this on the help sites here but sometimes they are not as clear to us folks trying to learn. Yes, my video does like right but I do not believe it is typed in correctly as it does not show the video below.

There is so much to learn here and I am willing to do so. But it take awhile and sometimes, like entering a contest, which I did recently, you cannot find an answer as quickly as you need it. I appreciate any suggestions anyone is willing to give me.

I was having some problems the other day and said to myself, self, get it together. I started thinking about all the things we have, keep, collect and thought we are strange creatures. The more I thought about it, my mind brought me back to a skit by George Carlin. If you have never seen Stuff by Carlin, you have not lived. I believe it is the funniest skit I have ever seen!

I am excited. Tonight me and my hubby will attend an oil painting class. We do have a topic that we will paint. Mine is a lighthouse. My husband got palm trees. I have attempted lighthouses before, in acrylics and in watercolor. It is the rocks that I have the most challenge with. So I have been studying lighthouses and hoping I can turn out something I can live with, ha, ha!

Do you paint my fellow reader? Tell me of your experiences.

I am excited! I love art and I will be attending a Paint Night at our park's clubhouse. We will be painting in oils and have been given several topics to pick from. I have decided to do a flamingo! I love their long necks, pink feathers and long legs. It will be a challenge. I do paint in watercolors and have done some studying - especially on the legs of flamingos and spoonbills.

Any of you fellow writers paint? Maybe you draw? Sure would love to hear from you.

Got my computer back up and running. My husband's grandson, Jason, saved the day. However, Windows 10 did a few strange things when I loaded it. It wanted me to start logging on with a thumb print, or photo, or ...? I already had a password. I didn't want to do the others. I guess Microsoft knows best. But we got it so that all I do is do what I did before. I am a happy camper!

I just ordered something from a Web site, susposedly a health item. But the disappointing part was that after I indicated what I wanted how the site was set-up to have me order more of the same or something else. Also, doing it on my phone, which I try not to, makes it even more difficult. I kept tapping the button as it didn't give me any indication that the first tap went through. Finally, it did and went on to the next item, and next item, and four or five more. All to confusing for me. Finally, getting to the price, I see I have ordered something I don't even know what it is. I finally had to call the people, who were nice put tried to sell me more. I insisted I only want the original order, no extras and please remove the other item.

The assistant on the other end of the conversation was very nice, and agreed to remove the other item. He also told me what to expect on my money adjustment and on my shipping. I did get emails indicating that they would follow through and so that was reassuring. But, I sure wish they would not put in all the other items to confuse us when we are trying to order one thing. I was a poorly (or purposely) written Web page!

I guess this is my beef of the day!!

I find Writing.com amazing! I mean, not that it is a wonderful place to write and to read other's creations. But all the great things we can learn here to be even more creative. For instance, learning to set up a photo album, which I just did. Now that I have a premium account, I can do so. Before, well, could not do so. To think I can create various things, like photos, Gifs, videos...wonderful fun ahead.

Also, my hat off to all those who help here at the site. I did not understand something and I got help for JACE (user:sybaritescribe), Senior Moderator in technical support. He clarified something for me, and there I was getting it done. Thanks again JACE!

And then a member came along and give me some hits on creation in the area of GIFs! When I get that download business figured out, I will be in "heaven"!

Microsoft has really got me; at least that is how I feel. I wanted to set up my new checking account with a new bank. I needed to have a newer version of Chrome, so I tried but that failed. I was told by my new bank, at the Web site, I could not log in unless I had Windows 10. Once I got Windows 10, I was able to upgrade Chrome to a new one. Once I got that done, I was able to log in to the new bank. Wow, all that before I could log in.

Well, now I have Windows 10, which I put off as long as I could. The only difference so far is it takes longer for my computer to load some pages. Do you ever feel like someone else is controlling your life? I sure did today. But it is done.

How old is poetry? I don't know myself but in doing my writing I came across some information about poetry that I didn't know. Poetry in Psalms is very interesting. We don't see the normal rhyming that often is in standard poetry writing. It seems that Hebrew poetry, one of the rules is the use of parallelism. It is a kind rhyming of ideas instead of sounds. Three parallelisms used are: Synonymous, antithetical, and synthetic parallelism. In synonymous you will find two lines that say basically the same thing as in, hear me or pay attention to me. In antithetical you will see two lines consisting of opposites. And in synthetic the lines may build on each other as in Psalm 14:2 "The Lord looks down from heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if there is even one with real understanding, one who seeks for God."

So I have learn another form of poetry and just had to share. It has been wonderful learning about poetry and also revisiting Psalms.
