Very well said, Sue. I agree with life is satisfying once we stop focusing on other's happiness and instead of focusing on ourselves. It was a difficult lesson but one that changed my life.

Oh Wow! I wasn't expecting you to put God as our business partner at the end. I was too busy getting mad at the man in the story who kept the 100%.
Great story plot, btw. You certainly zeroed in on the man's ingratitude effectively. I guess, we all experience a bit of that ingratitude at one time or another in our lives. A big Ooops!

Garden Within

The body can be tired,
the mind can be tired,
who you take yourself to be,
can be tired.
But Oh!
There is something in you
that can never be tired.

It can never be asleep.
It can never be wary.
It can never be afraid.
It can never be in need
of this or of that.

It is ever awake.
It is ever free.
It is ever joyous.
It is ever peaceful.
It is ever harmonious -
and never in search of anything.

It always Is --
and it is You.

If you can open your heart to it.
If you can come honest and genuine
and real.
If you can humble yourself before it -
it will hold up a divine mirror,
and help you to know yourself
through everything that perceives has lost it.

But you can never lose,
never ever lose, my Friend,
what you have always Been:
