Ravyn may not physically resemble me, she looks just like her dad, but boy oh boy, she's one hundred percent me! Jackass and I have been divorced for 6 years now. After the first year, I remarried to a mutual friend. Jackass and I discovered we work much better as friends. We probably should have never married in the first place, but we'd been having fun for a couple of years and while we were on a five-day trip, we got a little tipsy and it sounded like a good idea since we already had a six-month-old baby back at home. (We didn't even live together at the time!) Anyway, after the divorce, he was nearly my best friend except I couldn't quite forgive the whole cheating and running out on us after 9 years incident. Everything was great until this new girlfriend. We call her Cuckoo Cuntrina. It's a long story. The short part is that Jackass hasn't seen Ravyn in 2 years. He only talks to her maybe every 4 months or so for about 5 minutes. He sent a text on Christmas night. He's an OTR truck driver and claims he was driving all day Christmas and was too tired to call that night. Our teenage daughter is very hurt. Today is his birthday. So she sent him a text and then shut her phone off so that if he calls it goes to a voice mailbox that hasn't been setup:

"Hey Dad, just wanted to tell you HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Hope you are having a good day even tho you're stuck in the truck with her. You said you'd have free time in January but I guess something came up. That's okay I understand. I've been busy anyway. Kimmie is doing homeschool now too so she's here a lot."

"Hope to see you soon. I love you."

"By the way I'm gay."

Now I just want to say that the reason this is amusing to us is because he's basically one of those stereotypical rednecks you see in the media. We don't actually have much in common. Which is another reason we should have never married, but lesson learned. All I can say is that the sex was pretty damn good.

It's been a long week. I'm only getting about 4 hours of sleep each night. It's not bothering me...yet.

Hubby volunteered to work this weekend. I'm on the fence about it. Yes, we can use the money. (We're hoping to make 4 extra car payments this year to pay it off sooner.) But he has no days off and I don't want him to wear himself down. Those 12 hour shifts were hell on him, so at least it's just 8 now. But still. They hardly ever offer overtime unless production is slow. Blah.

We hit 70 today. But it's supposed to be 24 tomorrow night and then ice again. Gotta love Texas!

If my ex-husband and I had stayed together, today would have been our 15th anniversary. Weird. Next month my New & Improved Hubby and I will be celebrating 5 years. Damn that was fast!

So my mom got me this cool Happy Planner for my birthday in November. I do love a list. I keep several lists at any given time. I've always had a plannner. I even have a weird "Household Binder" full of household management lists cuz apparently I'm a boring ass housewife with no life. So I got this cute Happy Plannner and some stickers. I looked online for some mom themed stickers and found a facebook group of Happy Planner women. Cool, right? Maybe I've found others like me and I can finally feel like I'm part of the Cool Kids Table. They spend so much time tracking down exclusive sticker books and posting selfies of them with all their treasures that I wonder if they actually get around to using their planners for anythimg more than a social status update.

I saw a new "Wellness" line being released at Walmart and thought it would be cool. Only 14.95. Apparently the day it came out, they were bought out. But then, on FaceBook, I was offered this awesome deal for 80.00. I spoke out against this insane inflatation. I might have used some harsh words.

I was kicked out of my Mom Group. Oh, poor me. Who needs friends like this anyway?

Fuck it.

This is why I have no friends.

But I'm still good.

Cheers!

I've gotten so much done today! I'm proud of myself. Mainly just organizing stuff and finishing up some lists for the month, but it's been driving me crazy that I haven't had a few solid hours to sit down and do it. It will make my week (and month) go so much smoother. Yep, I'm a little compulsive about my lists. But whatever works.

Cheers!

I don't celebrate the New Year like most people. I celebrate by cleaning house. Not just everyday cleaning, but a massive decluttering, organizing, and deep clean of every area of my house. I even keep checklists in my Home Management Binder so that I stay on track and I can delegate some of the chores to the kids. (Hubby just looks at me like I've got an extra boob- it's a cross between intrigue and fear.) It sounds weird and boring, but it is so satisfying for me to start the year with a fully clean and organized house! I normally start on the first of December so we can have more room for Christmas decorations and gifts. It's also a good time to donate things to the church resale shop. (I mean, I discovered I had 4 muffin tins. I sure don't need more than one, but they're in excellent condition.) Once I'm done, I burn sage throughout and say a little prayer to bless the house.

While doing my annual New Year Cleaning Ritual, I pulled out a forgotten container of books and have started sorting them. I'll be doing do this slowly until I've gone through every book in the house. I've already come across a few duplicates, which I'll be dropping off at church tomorrow. Anything I haven't read will go be put aside.
I have a growing list of books that I want to read, but Hubby says I need to go through the books I already own before I buy anymore. To be fair, I have a habit of buying books from nearly every place I go. A bag of books for a buck at a yard sale, a few that catch my attention at Dollar Tree, and sorting through the donations at my church for our resale store have all helped fill my shelves. And closets. And storage shed. Plus, people are always giving me books when they start cleaning out their own homes. All this on top of the ones I buy from Amazon or Half Price Books from my long-time favorite authors. So I can kind of understand his aggravation.
I'm normally a pretty fast reader, but I'm not sure how many I actually read a year. From the size of my personal library, I'd guess close to 100. Even though I generally read 3 books a month for "CLOSED!The Monthly Reading ChallengeOpen in new Window., I've also signed up to read 33 books for "Little Mouse Loves to ReadOpen in new Window.. So I'll be keeping track of everything here "Invalid EntryOpen in new Window.

Cheers!
