| Quebec Winter Carnival Now, this sounds pretty cool. I mean, I already have a little tradition of eating, drinking, and being merry before Lent, so this shouldn't be too different. Mardi Gras in winter...that's a bit of a contradiction. There are a lot of people that barely wear any clothes at Mardi Gras, but I'm supposed to wear layers of clothes at the Winter Carnival. Huh. Okay, so I think I need some help shopping for this trip. I don't even own a coat. Let's see what I need... Snow pants? They make pants specifically for snow? Interesting. I guess it makes sense. After all, I've seen a wind jacket and a wet suit, so why not? Let's see...wool socks. I didn't know they existed in real life. I've only read about them. But I'm willing to give it a try. Aha! Water-resistant, insulated boots with good traction...I have some of those! We've been known to get ice storms and there's nothing worse than walking out the door and sliding right off the porch. Hats with flaps? Like in Fargo? Okay..I have a scarf. But I'm pretty sure it's just for accessorizing. Wait, what's the difference between gloves and mitts? I've got work gloves and I've got oven mitts...hmm. Ooh, I have a marvelous umbrella. Finally something useful! Alright ya'll, I think we have a problem. I'm supposed to have disposable heat packs in case I freeze up? Ice cleats?! Quilli ☕  ....Lostwordsmith  ..is this a joke? Sub-zero temperatures? If ya'll need me you can find me in the airport bar with a thermos of whiskey to stay warm.Cheers! |

but seems to be okay today. I worry about my poor circulation, scrub my toes with a soft bristle brush, watch discoloration come and go. I probably need new arteries or veins but hey... "Heathcare" USA (enough said?). I may be better off trying something here in Thailand. But still... wish I lived in a country that had adequate patient based healthcare. Thailand and Taiwan mostly do, but I can't access it. First world systems like Europe, Canada and Australia do, but again, I can't access it.
