30 Day Blogging Challenge Prompt 19

I think I've always written in an attempt to calm the chaos in my mind. As a teenager, I had terrible mood swings. (I was diagnosed later with Bipolar 1.) During a manic period, I had a cyclone of thoughts furiously clashing. During a depressive state, I couldn't describe my feelings unless I wrote them. As a new mom, I had Post Partum Psychosis. I was terrified of the insane thoughts that plagued me. (I literally thought my daughter hated me.) I wrote in an attempt to understand the illogical notions that no one else understood. Older now, I have trouble verbally communicating with people. If I can't understand myself, how can anyone else? But writing is soothing and therapeutic. Don't get me wrong, it's a lot more fun now too! My writing may have begun as a last ditch effort to prove my sanity, but thankfully I enjoy it for other reasons now.

Cheers.
