I've Finally Come To My Senses And I Feel So Empowered!!! April 1, 2018 at 11:59pm
Once in awhile, I've been wrong —
and, when I am, I'm not too proud to admit it.
As most people know, I haven't been favorably impressed
with Donald Trump's performance as POTUS45,
so I've declared, time and time again,
that he HAS to be
the WORST President we've ever had
in the entire history of the USA.
However, I've been having second thoughts about
my opinion of this individual and would like to
apologize for misjudgin... [Read more] Way To Go Vermont!!! March 31, 2018 at 11:53pm

“Art is amoral, whether we accept this or not; it does not take sides. The finest fictions are cold at heart.” John Banville
What are your thoughts on this quote?
The way I see it, this quote rarely, if ever, applies to a piece of fiction, because the writer has a certain view of his or her characters and where he or she wants to take them in order to elicit a certain response from the reader.
Take these two writers and their novels:

"There is something delicious about writing the first few words of a story. You never quite know where they will take you." What are your thoughts on this quote?
At this time in my life, I've been writing a lot of things that have titles, opening words, or both that show what direction I anticipate taking a story, poem, blog-entry, etc. and even at what time I plan to finish it. You have, I'm sure, seen plenty of examples of this while I... [Read more] I Am *SO* Ready... March 20, 2018 at 11:39pm

The Polish poet Adam Zagajewski said that in his country, “poetry killed communism.” Do you think poets can be the forerunners of social change, and if so, how are they managing to bring such revolutions about?

"Life is a spell so exquisite that everything conspires to break it." Emily Dickinson Do you agree? Write anything you want about this.
During Those Times When The Glass Seems Half-Empty instead of half-full, it might seem that way.
There are times when you no sooner get one problem solved that another one comes along to replace it.
However, by the same token, there are those times when one blessing after another comes up.

Abraham Lincoln said, “I don’t like that man. I must get to know him better.”
What do you think are the pros and cons of trying to get to know someone better of whom we have a negative first impression?
Believe it or not, I was actually going to get this done during the wee hours of the morning, but I actually became sidetracked when going over to get a music video to go here -- but that's another story that you'll eventually find by goi... [Read more] Budget March 12, 2018 at 11:51pm
