“The older I get, the more confused I get. I used to think that age would bring wisdom. It doesn't, it just brings confusion. But I find that this confusion is artistically useful.” John Banville
What does confuse you about this world, and what can you do with that confusion as a writer or an artist?
The confusion that we might begin to feel as we grow older, experience more, and go through more changes isn't a bad thing. It's simpl... [Read more] Comfort Food And Love November 22, 2018 at 11:57pm

"Sitting down together and sharing what you have is the greatest expression of love." With Thanksgiving in mind, write your thoughts about this.
As there are many wonderful ways to express love, I don't know whether it's accurate to say that fixing a meal and sharing both the food itself and the fellowship of eating it together is the greatest expression, but it certainly ranks near the top.
I know that I grew up with lots of hap... [Read more] The Mind's Eye November 20, 2018 at 11:52pm

Peripheral Vision--In what ways do you think your peripheral vision is important? Has what you’ve seen through your peripheral vision ever helped you? Have you ever used your peripheral vision for poem or story writing ideas?
Peripheral Vision has to do with our range-of-vision from the sides of our eyes while we are looking straight-ahead.
I actually am one of those people who have a wide range-of-vision from all angles -- that is, I can simu... [Read more] Movie Time November 18, 2018 at 12:00am

"I had always imagined Paradise as a kind of library." Do you agree with this? Write anything you want about this.
This reminds me of one of my favorite pastimes: Going to the stacks of a library; pulling random books off the shelves; and finding a comfortable place to sit and enjoy reading them. Some of them I read parts of and others I read from cover to cover.

What does the phrase “You are the Master of your own Destiny” mean to you? With the contradictory politics in every place on this world, family obligations and interferences, and life events that keep happening on their own, how is it possible for us to be masters of our own destinies?
What we can master is how we respond to/adapt to what comes our way in life.
It's like the familiar saying reminding us that, while we can't control the ... [Read more] Larry "The CanMan" Van Ness November 5, 2018 at 11:57pm

If you could choose a celebrity or a movie star as your neighbor, who would you choose? What makes that person so special for you?
Local celebrity, {x-link:https://twitter.com/AJ1952Chats/status/1054849787588165632}Larry "The CanMan" Van Ness{/x-link} would definitely be my first choice -- even though that might present a problem:

Write a blog entry that starts and ends with the words "The rain wasn't all bad"
The rain wasn't all bad.
Since there was a downpour with high winds going on, it put a damper on any plans I had to go out -- which meant I could focus on getting a lot done here at home.
Therefore, it was definitely true that the rain wasn't all bad.
