Scanty snippets on/of poetry
A poet has to manifest herself in a safe environment. This is such a place for my early baby steps. The wonders of the world and my inner thoughts mingle. They become one. It’s a journey of the soul, a spark of the mind, and a bit of spit. For more "Poet @ Work 2 [18+], "In honest simple verse [E]

A glimpse of nature

On the other hand: it might be a brooding place for challenges and poetry contests, some of which required ONE STAR RATING. (In case somebody wonders about the *StarB* *StarB*gracing this blog) A large group of writers participated in this challenge that required to rate as low as possible. So, it doesn't mean this blog is a bad blog or that they reviewed mean, it was required and this is the consequence. Alas!

Compose a poem using all three of these words:
smoke, mirrors, deception

Line Count: 12 lines, minimum

This week I quit smoking
For all the wrong reasons
(I did not do it for myself)
When mirrors were in front of me
Noticing the deception
I took another puff
Of smoke
And failed me

This time looking deep inside
Remaining tranquil and in peace
Learning my lesson
I stopped again
And I will continue
Doing so
Till it sticks –
my demon done with

POEM 8, week July 26, 2021
Write a poem that personifies an emotion: love, anger, fear, sadness, joy, for example.

In awe

An unknown contemporary poet wrote his thing,
Strong, powerful, and full of imagery

Blown away by this striking talent
I grabbled up and started reading

I wanted to write like this
I wanted to …

So, I started
Again

POEM 7, week July 19, 2021

Make the title of your poem
"What I Remember"
and then let the title inspire you.

Line count minimum: 12, no max
Feel free to use any form you like

What I remember

Remember fifteen years
Love of the canine breed
It is when we first meet
An instant click.

Fox-terrier, you were
Loyal, goofy, and smart
Closed you into my heart
Went all the way.

Those last days of sorrow
Old, grey, and with a fit
Your eyes suddenly lit
-it's time to go.

I held you in my arms
Carried you in the night
And at morning light
Off to the vet.

So, there you were put down
I watched you leave this world
Back home in bed, I curled
I was alone.

My little friend, my all
Rest in peace; you'll be missed
Within two months, I kissed
Another dog.
