I was feeling rather pleased with myself. I spent part of my week of "stay-cation" getting back into the swing of writing. I met most of my goals for the week, including painting the bathroom.
I'd updated my goals post; I'd submitted another flash writing.
Out of the blue, as I'm feeding the dogs, it occurs to me: my latest flash writing features two women, Jen and Angela, and a dragon living in the basement whose name is Brad. My hand to God, the names came to me randomly as I wrote and are in no way a reflection of any real persons, living or dead.
My first reaction was that I needed to go change the names. Then, I thought, "Nah. It'll be more fun this way." But I think I probably should because no one, in a million years, will believe my disclaimer. I'm not even sure I do.
It does make me wonder what was going on in my head, both before and after the piece was born.
Enjoy!
