June 9, 2021 I remember being a child on June 9 one year. I must have been about 10. I could not for the life of me imagine what I would be like on June 9, 2021, which at that time was fifty years away. Now it is June 9, 2021 and I am celebrating my 60th birthday. I am anything but what I imagined at 10 years old. I knew I would be a writer. Aside from that I never knew I would also be a preacher and a student. "Prompt: Isaiah 40:28-31 28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Write about the greatest gift in your Blog entry today. I disagree with the author here. I believe self is the last person I want to take care of and give to. Mankind was made to take care of each other and to have fellowship with God. The fall of man in the Garden of Eden, be it real or metaphorical, led man to be self-centered and that is the problem in our world. Man is "homo incurvatus in se" curved in and focused on self. |
