I decided to try this one-handed typing. To be honest, I expected to be in much worse pain than i am in. My left arm is immobilized so I cannot use my left hand, but the anesthesiologist put a nerve block on my left arm that is just now beginning to wear off. it got me through the first 24 hours after surgery and the nurses here see to it that i have my pain meds on time round the clock. So the crux is that I am virtually pain free. I still cannot move the index finger of my left hand nor feel my thumb, but they are blocked still. My dressing does not come off for five days. i have to put my arm in a bag to shower. "Prompt: How can I better love those around me and show hospitality more to others?" I would never say "I know what you are feeling" because I do not know. I know how I would feel in the situation. Never underestimate grief or tell somebody they are grieving wrong or for too long.
