Tell us about a New Years' Resolution you're glad you didn't stick to.

Mine always involved diet and exercise and lasted three days. If that was the tone I set, it's no wonder the year was filled with the guilts.

I think this year I will start the year off enjoying who I am and what I bring to the world and not change anything. Giving up beating myself up trying to be more, better, different, does not serve a purpose. At least not a useful one. So I will look back at 2017,not with regret or things to change, but with joy in my heart that I touched, moved and inspired some people; ticked off others; confused many; and made a whole bunch laugh or smile.

Should I be concerned about the level of phantom stuff happening around me? Not sure. Here is one more example of the stuff that happened to me recently.

So the urgent care nurse called me back, I told her my symptoms and she said, sounds like pneumonia, go to the ER. Tonight. So I went. After 3 hours of testing, My lungs are clear, the EKG is normal, the flu test is negative, and I still have the symptoms. Dear Medical Profession: This is what "It's all in your head" looks like, feels like, and no one trusts you to pull a cat out of a paper bag. I would go back to my homeopath, but Dear God, why did my favorite homeopath retire? Now what will become of me? I am reduced to the three year old falling down to the knees and wailing "WHY CAN'T I HAVE WHAT I WANT?"

Matt solved the case of the phantom keys. I had started to clip my keys to my purse thinking if I can find that, I would always have my keys. This morning, they were nowhere to be found. Everyone and everything came to a halt to puzzle through where the keys were and to suggest where to look. Having had enough, Matt heaved a sigh and dug his thick little fingers into the side pocket and got them. Tom is laughing, Matt is smirking, and I am abashed.
