July 22, 2015 I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done. I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them. I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC. |
What numbers hold special meaning for you? Consider dates, times, ages, years, or anything else you can count.  WRITING AND ME Since I missed the blog yesterday let me just say I learned a lot about organized writing from the courses I took on New Horizons Academy. Fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and journalism all have their own writing style. Every thing I learned from New Horizons was adding to my writing knowledge. NUMBERS Assigning numbers to every random event can cause a lot of stress. It's also a way to avoid the day to day living that is necessary for survival. Placing faith in numerical patterns is what causes a cult rift in numerology, which is normally considered a science. There is a lot of historical writings about numbers that are really interesting. One of the ones I remember reading about is the historical violent happenings that occur on the 11th day of the 9th month Since reading about it, I have a tendency to watch world events around 9/11 every year. Using numbers to try to predict future events though is kind of maddening. I believe it is tied to other cult undertakings. I don't look for special meaning in any special number. Although, people who are into numerology will assign numbers to different people they are trying to figure out. Nature seems to be balanced properly with numerical patterns.
