I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done.
I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them.
I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC.
Great that you learned to read early, as did I, at three and a half from my grandmother, by asking her the letters on her wall-calendar. And yes, we do get to have different teachers for different things in life.
Interesting story, Judith. I think you're familiar with tornados. I've experienced two, thankfully we weren't in the direct path for the brunt of the damage. It takes a community to restore things back to some kind of normalcy.
I've written my own obituary and I've updated it each time I've moved. I've got some more work to do to finish my updated will but if something were to happen my existing will won't be the worst case scenario either. I just feel that the more I have in order the less stress my children will have on their plates.
What was the biggest news in your life from last year?
There was not very much change here. This fall I brought a new kitten into the house. The kitten was neutered and had all her shots, by the time real cold set in. That was big enough so I knew I would not be doing visits to the Veterinarian during the winter, when roads can be bad.
A plus is how well the older cat we have and the kitten are getting along. The older cat was rather sedentary, but now, she plays like a little kitten and the two of them work mischief together. It's nice. Another plus, my dog sometimes gets involved, when the kitten chases him or he chases her. All in fun no fighting. Keeps the household joyful and companionable.
