A blog about my experiences in China
This is a blog I started writing on Travelblog.org a year and a half ago. I made little progress with it due to never finding the time. I have moved it over to WdC where I intend to work on completing the record of my time here, during the remaining six months of my contract. These past two years have been filled with experiences which I really must record before I lose them. :)
Impressions of Taizhou
April 4, 2012 at 5:40am
Here we are, already mid-March and yet my last blog entry accounts only of my arrival in Taizhou - now more than 4 months past! It is time, then, for me to skip the narrative and just tell you how I find things to be out here in Taizhou. There is so much to tell that I hardly know where to begin. It is said by many a commentator that the UK is increasingly becoming a 'nanny state'; our c... [Read more]
Of Leaving Macau and Arriving in Shanghai
April 4, 2012 at 5:38am
Allow me to apologise that three weeks have passed since my arrival in Taizhou, in which time I have been so busy adjusting to life here, settling in and working that I have found no time to write. I shall endeavour, henceforth, to keep you more regularly informed of my adventures and, indeed, may need to write two or three blogs in quick succession just to get you up to date - there is far too much to write in one sitting! :) I suppose the best place to start is at the beginning, with my arr... Prelude
April 4, 2012 at 5:36am
I sit gazing out across the hazy shores of Macau from Seb's flat on the 35th floor of the Manhattan Tower (http://www.manhattan-macau.com/), as the light slowly fades and my weekend here draws to a close. Dawn will bring the true beginning of my adventure, when I leave the comfort of my friend's luxurious abode and set out alone into the wild unknown! My adjournment in Macau has not been uneventful though, so as Seb is on his way to Beijing for a business meeting tomorrow and I'm lef... [Read more]
