This is a blog of my writing experiences', my successes, my faliures, my feelings of where my ability is, and how far I've come and how far I've got to go to accomplish my goal.
Oh boy, I give out a ton of reviews and I have never been even close to getting the same amount in return. It's even worse being a Mod, cuz...Now my views are up but my reviews are even lower. Still, it is not the reason to leave this site. It's actually the reason to stay. When you are a writer, very rarely do you ever get every single person to comment on your work. In fact it is very rare to have comments at all. I have never once wrote a fan letter to a book author. I never would. Or even a writer in the newspaper or any thing else an author has wrote. But here, I can. I do. I love this site for this reason. Some need feedback, others thrive on it. I leave reviews about what the writing means to me. Not about grammar or anything of absolute importance. If you must get reviews on something, highlight it in the Plug it page or auto-award it. Make your reviews public and get involved in groups. Those simple things might improve your feedback but maybe not. This is a play ground. Have fun with it!
I am really not a 'reviewing' person...I hate to grade people, because...like you state here...there is appreciation for the effort that went into the work they share. Yet, I have done reviews...I just don't feel I am qualified, since writing is new to me, to be able to give the best review.
I find, like most of life, you get what you give with this site - you don't have any pubilc reviews so I'm not sure how active a reviewer you are? I recommend joining a workshop if you want guaranteed reviews. :)
