Prompt based story-line for a contest with alternate-day prompts over a fortnight. |
This contest is run by NaNoNette and will run for a fortnight beginning on the 15th of May with the first prompt. We are supposed to knit together a story based on the seven prompts sent by her ... one every other day. Here is the link to the contest:
Prompt 1: It has to use/involve the number two. In any way shape or form. Think couple, twins, etc, be creative. Also, mention cherry and stairs. Word Count: 415; Total WC: 415 Prompt 2: Use the words castle, princess, knight and earthquake. But they may NOT be used within the same context, meaning the knight can not rescue the princess from the castle during the earthquake. Word Count: 831; Total WC: 1246 Prompt 3: Have your main character make a discovery. Add a new character to the story who is not linked to the discovery. The new character can be a guest player for this chapter only, or stay around. Your choice. Have whatever the discovery is in bold and the first time the new character shows up the name in bold. Word Count: 1476; Total WC: 2722 Prompt 4: Use the word half in dialog. Have something or somebody be of medium size. Use the word middle in reference to a location. Show your character or characters eating their favorite dessert. Remember to make the prompt words bold and the name of the dessert too. Word Count: 1732; Total WC: 4454 Prompt 5: Find a way to mention the four elements Earth, Wind, Water, Fire in any way, EXCEPT as a list of the four elements. Make them bold. Word Count: 1613; Total WC: 6067 Prompt 6: Tell me about a love interest your main character has or had, and what made or makes that person special to your character. For those who write with characters that are too young for love interests, tell me about a beloved pet they had or have. This is the second to last prompt. A climax to the plot should be visible or take shape. Word Count: 1659; Total WC: 7726 Prompt 7: There should be a resolution to at least one conflict/story line you created these past weeks.
