This blog is a wide variety of things. Most titles are prompts I have followed.

This journal is a wide collection of things. Some of it is just a free flow of thoughts. Some of it is from Earl's 31-Day Challenge a long time ago. The rest is from given writing prompts that I have found around the Net from various groups to which I belong. It's not often that I rant about life in general, but you will find some of that here as well. Things here are mostly prompts I have followed. Maybe you will find a prompt that inspires you.

Awesome! I use the list as a marketing tool for my business, too, but I found it also had a lot of things that might spark a creative gem - you just never know!

Wordsmitty sent me here. I read all the entries to the 30 day blog challenge this November... over 400 of them. One of the recurring problems is the prompts. Since 30dbc is postponed till March I might do mini-challenges in January. I'll go look at that list.

Thank goodness for home entertainment during those long drawn out cold wintry evenings.

I'm ecstatic about the lengthening daylight hours. Now if the weather would just finally warm.

We are still looking at six foot snowbanks. And the nippy north wind just won't stop blowing.

Man is be years since I've been fishing, I miss it though I've never be in a tournament. That's make me nervous as well! Great job facing your anxieties about it though!

Looks like its been a while since you've been to blog city. I remember well the day the news of Rixy's passing hit WDC.

It happened in the midst of one of my New Horizon courses. I believe her passing left more than a few holes around the website.

I didn't have the opportunity to get to know her personally, but I benefited from her articles on writing. She made the learning process enjoyable.

I just dropped in to let you know I'm your new neighbor in blog city.

I miss Rixy too. She was my instructor last winter for the punctuation class, so I did get to know her a little bit.

It sounds like Rixy was a great encouragement to you and your dreams. What I remember most is her sense of humor. She would come into my Comma Sense forum and make us laugh with her grammar comments. Never forget her words of encouragement to you. She still lives on in our memories.

National Bloody Mary Day

Well, I would suppose this is an obvious one for those who may have celebrated a wee bit too much last night! Bloody Mary's, I think, are great drinks. There are so many different ways to make them and so many recipes out there. There are really good ones and there are really bad ones. There are those that involve basically an entire meal and those that are a bit more traditional.
So, grab a Bloody Mary (or a Virgin Mary, if you prefer) and ponder the year ahead. It is a good drink over which to ponder, to plan, and to dream. Of course plans change in life, and new dreams might come out of nowhere or a place one would least expect it. But to take a few minutes on the first day of a year and map out a plan for the next 365 days is never a bad idea.
Most of my plans for the year revolve around writing - to enter more contests, to pitch a certain number of magazines accepting short fiction, and t finally get through the revisions of my favorite novel for which I have written the first draft. Sitting with a bloody Mary on National Bloody Mary Day and thinking about the year to come and all of the exciting things that will follow is a great way to start the year!
