I'm not as prolific as I should be when it comes to writing, so I'm blogging to try to encourage and motivate myself to write more. Sometimes I'll be ranting and sometimes I'll be pondering... and sometimes I'll just write the first thing that comes into my head to satisfy the demands of the 'Update your blog' email! If you like what I write or have anything to say, I appreciate all comments.
What a thoughtful blog post. I can't see how anyone would be offended by that. It was clearly written and actually very intelligently written. I see your point and agree with you completely. It's very sad his life had to end so early and it is tragic but at the same time, I wasn't all that surprised either. So many actors, musicians, and high-paid athletes seem to have their lives spiral out of control when they become so famous that no one wants to 'tell them no'. I can imagine how hard it would be to stay grounded in reality with everyone around you treating you like that ... very sad indeed. Wonderful entry.
Holy cow! Now I am completely jealous. You took the California Zephyr! I LOVE trains! I want to take that trip! I don't actually just love Amtrak, I'm rather closet-obsessed with it. I want to take a long trip so badly. Oh man, I want to hear how the trip went - please! And if you have pictures, I think I might have to squeal a little. Write me!
You should keep a journal of your travels for yourself.
You could post them in this blog. **hint**
Unemployed is okay if you have the basics covered by other sources. It can give time to rethink what you are doing, or in this case, give you time to pack!
Thanks for this great entry and your real-life perspective, as opposed to Silly Sarah's created for her political gain. We had an idiot Congressman say if Stephen Hawking were British he wouldn't be alive today. (Stephen had to correct him.) I'm glad you know we're not all that stupid and proud to be stupid.
Belated Happy Birthday wishes, too. You're just a young'un. Hope you have a great trip!
I read an article the other day where the writer begrudgingly used Palin's name and quickly referred to her thereafter as "she-who-shall-not-be-named"
The more attention this woman gets the more power and influence she has. BUT good GOD she's a hard one to ignore. Mostly because the conservative base her is practically lapping at her feet. Now, as I've learned, the senate is looking to remove the "end of life counseling" bit that she blew out of proportion. Too much power, she has, as Yoda would say.
