2 AM and I'm still awake, writing a song
If I get it all down on paper, it's no longer inside of me,
Threatening the life it belongs to
And I feel like I'm naked in front of the crowd
Cause these words are my diary, screaming out loud
And I know that you'll use them, however you want to

For Daddy, the real world gets fainter and fainter every day.

I can completely understand where you're coming from. I've been in quite a writing slump myself lately. I've gotten a few ideas here and there, and things I need to finish, but the inspiration just doesn't come. Hopefully we'll both wake up one day and find ourselves writing like crazy.
I've heard pretty much the opposite claim: that the people you dream about are not representative of the actual people you've met but aspects of your own subconscious, which is trying to tell you something symbolically.
Equally untestable, probably. Yet dreams are not studied much by scientists, precisely because there's so much superstition and supernatural fluff attached to them by people. Sleep is becoming better understood, but not the purpose, function or evolutionary reason for dreams. At least, as far as I know.
I've heard most recently it's called 'high fantasy'. Fantasty that takes place on a different world, but isn't nessecarily Tolkienesque with elves and high fantasty stuff.
Anyway...those first 250 words are key, I've discovered it's true, but it sounds like you're on the right path. You have all the advice, now boil it down to what you like best. You've got an awesome, unique story. You can do it ^_^
