A Little of What You Might Expect & A Lot of Everything Else that You Don't!.
My writing style for my blog is invariably 'snarkastic'. This is because I am a nice, unassuming and quietly-spoken person IRL-and this blog is where my innermost moments and torments happen. Trust me, I am no exception to that delightful rule.
Greetings!
Welcome to my THIRD blog here on WDC. A re-incarnation of my earlier version of my Blog, here "Insanties and Sensibilities" this v.03 should prove to be equally...challenging and hopefully, entertaining. That said, life often weaves through our writing in mysterious ways, and this Blog will probably prove to be no exception to that. We are very likely all quite different, yet the same, us writers and our collective little whims, fascinations and insecurities.
Goodness it's warm there! It hit around 86 today, I wasn't thrilled. Especially considering I had to wear jeans out to hide my fuzzy legs, as I ran out of shaving gel AND lotion, and we're not getting paid until next week. *Sigh.*
Glad everyone is looking out for your well being and insisting that you take some well deserved time off! And I'm glad you're up at the Mountain House with R and Beanie! Sounds like it's going to be a relaxing weekend!
Also glad to hear that your letter made an impact, and more importantly, an impact that will benefit all (except for the offending employee) involved.
Oh goodness Annabel, that's so scary about your health! I hope they can find a way to get you on track, and have you feeling better. That's pretty scary that those infusions did that to you! Hopefully they find another route.
Tell Beanie we miss her and we hope she's doing well. Her birthday is coming up soon, isn't it?
Sorry to learn of the complicated health issue leaving you so tired. I hope they will find out what is wrong and that there are meds (or more holistic methods) for easing you back to normal.
I repeat that you did the right thing about the co-worker, but with today's detail about the veiled threat, I would most certainly have included that element in your letter.
I'm glad you're taking this to the upper management to know what's going on before she decides to get in their ear and tell them what's wrong with you. Some people are so childish it's ridiculous. I hope this garners the results you're after and that this behavior is squashed. No one should have to deal with that in the workplace. *Hugs*
An excellent letter. I am sorry that your work place has become a private battle field for someone's personal insecurities.
I would keep a journal of her taunts and insults ( or whatever may be more appropriate here ) and that way you will have a body of evidence to present to your manager should this get even further out of hand.
Drama queens can certainly ruin the day for many people. And I know of no way to bring them back down to earth.
I do not understand vandals and especially fire bugs, if that's what happened. Sorry you had to breathe the stinky burnrng rubber, but glad everything turned out well.
Our neighborhood isn't exactly what I'd call safe, but it's not exactly dangerous either. There's a community of houses in the county next to us that house drug dealers, so it's not like it's only in our neighborhood. There aren't any drive-bys, or kidnappings, or anything like that. This community is considered "The 'Hood", we're all low income families here. We don't talk much with our neighbors, but our neighbors know who we are, and if we see something up, we report it. When we first moved here, I was worried that someone was going to break in a rob us, so I used to put a chair right next to the front door and the back door, but now I don't freak out like that so much. I still worry that someone will get in and rob us if I leave the door unlocked to go check the mail or do laundry, or go get the kids from school, or if we're away from home on vacation or something (we have a friend drop by every couple of days to make sure everything's okay for us while we're out), so I lock the deadbolt whenever I'm leaving the neighborhood, but otherwise I'm good with living here now.
