An SEP field is a generated energy field which affects perception. Entities within the field will be perceived by an outside observer as "Somebody Else's Problem", and will therefore be effectively invisible unless the observer is specifically looking for the entity.

I love it, especially that Popper understands that most people are not skilled debaters or even talkers and thus you should go for the meaning behind perhaps clumsy sentences; I wonder though, how many people will struggle with points 11 and 12, yet he's very right there.

As I was just telling Chy, I don't believe dreams mean anything. They're just our brains' way of trying to interpret the random firings of neurons while we sleep.

Except maybe for the erotic dreams. Those mean our hormones are building up.

Seems to be common mistake. The first line on the Wikipedia page for entomology is a caution that it's not to be confused with etymology.

Why either should feel a compulsion to explain a word is beyond me. When words are imported into a language they change meaning very often, so the history of a word may be interesting, but not helpful to anyone learning a second language.

Entomologist is way more visual. I keep imagining this guy as a kind of busy bee, buzzing around helpfully whether it's wanted or not. And, well, I don't know that guy, but I got the feeling that's close to the truth.
