Sometimes things in life are just too funny, too serious, too maddening to keep to yourself. This is just my way to keep myself sane and to hopefully let other people know that there is someone else out there with crazy stuff going on.
To AZIZ, I had to think about the jury duty summons. Normally, around my group of friends, if we are having a bad day we say, "At least I don't have to serve jury duty." At the time I wrote that little thought I had no idea I was actually going to receive one. It came a few months later. I tried to get out of it, but since I'm good citizen, didn't know the defendant, wasn't related to anyone involved in the case, and wasn't a felon, I had to serve.
The week they needed me to serve, I had to call in every night to find out if was needed. I lucked out, I wasn't needed. Apparently, all cases for the week settled out of court or were continued to another date.
I did it! I finally was brave enough to talk with a neighbor. I know it sounds over-dramatic. But for months I've been socially distancing, like a good Covid-fearing person should do. I have been so religious about being 6 feet apart that I'm not sure my neighbor knows I'm his neighbor. All that does is bring up fears I didn't even know I had.
