The loneliest happy person you'd ever meet, when not the saddest person who needs to be alone.

In an ever-changing world, we need to handle topics at the ready. If you roll over and give in to the narrative without lending a voice, might as well hand over your civil liberties. Voices could connect to true conscience and spirit for honest and open discourse. Why feel so redacted?

Unify on issues or don't but put drama aside. Open minds require complete objectivity. Or, agree to disagree and have a beer. Just writing what I feel without the narrative-altering mind f---ing with my head.

It might seem stupid, but between softwood pine, hardwoods birch and apple, I'd rather slug a birch tree, slender with paper like bark. Apple gnarled and ridged, pine is sticky (I climbed right up the center of one to the top and swayed while people begged me to come down, and obediently I did. It sapped me.).

Actually, yes. I consider myself an empath from an early age. I’ve written some about it. It’s part of my process with writing, developing characters. I hear other people in the room over my own mind, defer always. I’m quick to note what they are attempting to say and am constantly in thought how to solve their issues, leaving myself little time for reflection. Writing is the only place where I can actually hear myself.

You're right about many people only having time for sound bites these days, Kåre Enga in Montana.

In the Falkland Islands, internet is very limited and very expensive. The place I'm currently staying only lets me use it in the middle of the night, so when I have to get up at 3 am to check my texts (no cell service to the US here unless I'm on the internet) or WdC, I don't do nearly as much as I used to.

I currently have 2 very long emails I still need to get to from several days ago. Anyway, I miss everyone, but I also miss sleep, so there's that.

~Brian K Compton~, I'm really sorry about all the troubles you're having.

Have you spoken to the doctor about your vision problems lately? I know there are special glasses for it because I have to wear them to read much ever since the brain injury. It's part of why I now only listen to audiobooks instead of reading regular books. It took 8 years for anyone to diagnose it because I have a brain injury and while one might think it would be obvious to me that I see double, it wasn't. Partly, my brain does a fair job of compensating. But also, partly, you use your brain to realize and understand that the 2 images you constantly see are double vision and something you should mention to your eye doctor. Since my brain was damaged, even basic things like that can escape me.

I never once thought to mention it, even with annual eye exams in the Army and an exam every 2 years at the VA. Though, in my defense, since it happens in something like 41% of people with a brain injury, it should have been discovered by an eye doctor much sooner.

I know doing that activity is a CRAP TON of work. But you made a difference in lives, not just his, but for all the people he's reviewed since.

I am watching the Thai BL series "Last Twilight" about a badminton player who is now legally blind and facing total blindness. Very well written and acted. One doesn't need eyes to note the chemistry between the main actors, although for me that helps.

If you want to put this on the Newsfeed, you could write a 25 or 50 word synopsis and provide a link. Folks are funny these days. Many only have time for sound-bites. I find that sad.

Internet is murky.

Real world, I find opportunities. I hide. Been shy since young. So, not much biting.

On the internet, I can let my words speak. Be cavalier or help another, however. Not much of an audience for me here, there or in my underwater.

Difficult with Wisconsin writer’s community. Been five years. No correspondence with anyone. Got published.

I think writing live in blog, thinking I can provoke someone to peek, is best I can do. I take more and more risks. Lot of lost moments in life, shots not taken.

You know, it’s okay. I love myself now the I know myself better. I make myself laugh, tell myself I’m my own best friend. Being odd and still married. My kids don’t hate me. But, absolutely no outside family or friends to come to dinner.

I have my Facebook account on other computer. Need to get on their more, again, or learn password. I know I can contribute more there.

Holidays, winter, worst of times. Too much expectation, other people’s joy to witness. You’re warm where you are, I hope.

Too blind to edit. I keep you in my thoughts when I can.

I feel ghosted. Communication skills are lacking by many, especially in social media.

I still blog... it helps me. I still write... it helps me. Sometimes I get a note that something I said or did helped someone else. IRL... sometimes a face-to-face acknowledgement.

Part of it is due to aging, moving away, moving on... but it hurts that I mean so little to so many. A "like" doesn't count. I can't feel its warmth. I can't hug it back.

A thousand likes is like a fake fireplace with fake wood and fake flames, much like the fake trees, festooned with garlands and flowers in the courtyard here. There is no meaning to the Soltice Season here in Thailand other than Santa selling something. The Western glitz and glitter is understood and embraced by a culture of commerce. There is no heart.

I frequently piss people off on social media because I have a brain and try to use it. I mention to people that I'm highly opinionated but not always right. All they hear is a disagreement with their cherished beliefs (I do need to practice more tact). That makes me wrong and that gives them the right to block me. Others just ghost me.

I'm a lonely ghost. My coffee is going cold.

The kind of stuff that’s obvious, you do…like mimicry of those who imply their loss could be restored by veiled requests of indirect financial donation. They ignore your otherwise offerings as if you are selling them out. Words are not redeemable to them. Words are in earnest, honest and passed over. Kind words. Heartfelt. Easy to dispense. Easy love.

Does not get past that door. Can’t sell water in a desert, but would take mine, if offered.

I google to see if people scheme, having known copyright law myself for over 30 years. But, with internet, social media, no change to protection of your written work….but….
“You can use up to 10%, but no more than 1000 words, of essays, articles, or stories, of a single copyrighted work.
You can use up to 250 words of an entire poem, or a portion of a poem.”
