I missed this post but saw the photos of meals you and Daren are posting on spacebook. Saw pic there of Oliver as well. Wish I could have a pet but I travel too much.
It probably won't make you feel better, but my parents smothered me that way, too. My dad was always "I don't need a gift, just call your mother, at least once a week" so even if I did want to talk to her it felt like I was doing it because he asked (in my 20s).
Finally I'm far enough away I can just call and chat with my mom. But it took years and years to get there. And I'm an extrovert. *kicks you mom* She can't understand what she's doing to you with this guilt. I hope you can find a way to get out from underneath it.
