This is my family updates blog. I'm sorry to say that it's moved to Facebook. If you would like to continue to read about my life, you need to be my Facebook friend.
$1,000?!? Good Grief! Let's hope they don't have a pediatrician affiliation somewhere! Can't see how in the world that place can stay in business.
Hope you can figure out any unknown allergies for poor Jack (the current and possibly future head-banger), and that they're mild ones. Not knowing kind of sucks. I think I must be allergic to soy milk....whenever I've tried it, I immediately start to gag and vomit.
Reading your blog back to here to update myself! Fun to read about the kids, and I'm glad to hear the cat is doing better...
Pausing to comment on the pre-nup thing. Some regular people I know did discuss it (not sure if they did it, as I didn't pry) because the man had been divorced and dragged through endless renegotiations of the settlement ever since...and did not ever want to go through anything similar. The bride-to-be was disturbed by the background assumption that it could happen again with her, but I saw it as a way to be clear up front about expectations and the estates of two mature people (he has kids...). Even with young couples, discussing a pre-nup could be a way to communicate clearly about practical things and learn a lot about each other that pre-marital counseling does in some religions, or that family communication might do otherwise. I really, really wish I had discussed some practical things in advance...!
Hey, I just had some 'Happy Medicine'! Put it on some toast for a late-night snack, though I did not jump up and down and as a result I'm not all that happy.
Sorry about the Ravens. But I am happy about those Cardinals! The same Cardinals that I'd written off as possibly the worst playoff contestant in history just three weeks ago. Now look at 'em! I'll be pulling for them in the Big Game!
I think winter's just getting started here in Montana. It snowed here in June last year, so we've got a ways to go....dang it.
I was kinda hoping for an all-Pennsy final. If the Cardinals were still in St.Louis, maybe. In Arizona ... nope. My mother grew up outside of Pittsburgh, so this one is a no-brainer for me; although, the Steelers are so-not-my-team.
I like the simplicity of the two-letter word vocabulary in Linkish. You should make a translation book. I'd buy it!
And I definitely would have freaked out a little if I were a little kid and alarms went off while I was ripped out of my Mom's arms. Tuesday would have been my last day until I turned 18.
I went 2-2 last weekend, picking the Ravens and Steelers, but missing the Cards and Eagles. Can't get a grip on this week's games yet. I'm leaning Ravens, but I just don't know yet. Maybe I'll wait till after the games to decide.
Okay, they DID look pretty good against Miami, but the Titans will be a bit tougher. Still, I'm not sold on the Titans and think they're beatable. In fact, I'm not really sold on anyone this year. There's a lot of teams that could win it all. Why not Baltimore, right?
And like Kare, I'm a HUGE Orioles fan! Too bad they always suck.
I can't wait for the Orioles to play. Some day I'll visit the city of my father's father and maybe catch a game.
As for the Ravens ... better name than Colts or Browns. My Bills missed the playoffs for many a year in a row (but helped shut the Broncos out, for which I am proud).
Great idea, a fantastically creative way to help isolate a multifaceted and very ambitious self-improvement in a very personal and achievable way. I wish you a lot of success in your endeavor. It would be rather interesting to follow your multiple disciplines as they progress, I hope you'll keep a log of some sort.
*smacks self for stating the obvious and pushing more on you*
