I just finished up my final paper for class, so I have a little breathing room now. I have written two one thousand word academic journal entries, two 1,000 word academic blog entries, two papers at 2,000 words each, watched 3 hours of lectures, read 400 pages of the textbook, and worked 2 days this week. I've gotten up at 4:30 AM and stayed up until 9:00 PM to do so, but it was worth it. I learned and am learning a ton.

Just an image We are finishing Chapter 1 with these 3 verses.

Proverbs 1:31-33

31. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

32. For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

33. But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

This concludes chapter 1. What do you think these verses mean?

I think these verses mean just what they say: if we listen to wisdom and obey the commands of God, we will dwell safely. If we follow our own ways, God will permit us to do so but the results will be disastrous. We should always obey God's word.

When Solomon uses the term "Wisdom" he means "godly advice." Solomon personifies wisdom in anthropomorphic terms. He says that Wisdom is a person in much the same way that a writer may give human characteristics to an animal or inanimate object. Wisdom, however, is godly advice.

Write about what it is like to be yourself.

If there is one person I enjoy being it is myself. There was a time I hated my life and just about everything in it. I was living by myself at the time and would often go for a week without seeing another human being. I went sort of stir-crazy and died inside from loneliness. Now I live with about 90 other people and attend class most of the day. I have strong relationships with the guys and actually enjoy my own company as well. I love being me.

What do you think? Can you use up creativity?"

I believe you can use up creativity. I have been writing academic papers all week and that takes a lot of creativity. My well is running dry. I do find that all I usually have to do though is rest awhile and my creativity comes back.

As a poet and a writer, in which ways can you relate to what he mourns about?"

I know what he means. I had a wonderful idea the other night for one of my papers that I was writing this week. I wrote the idea down because it was late annd I had to work the next morning. When I looked at the idea again it no loonger made sense to me. Bummer!
