The simplicity of my day to day. |
PROMPT September 27th We are nearing the end of the month, and as always, I need your help to fill the Challenge War Chest with new prompts! In your entry today, write three of your own blogging prompts and then use one of them to complete your entry. There have been so many great prompts and it’s hard not to duplicate in some form or other. I’ve put three suggestions, hopefully they will spark conversation. Write about a time when someone said something to you which made a change (good or bad) to how you viewed your day. Do you like giving or receiving best and why? What has been the greatest challenge you’ve faced so far? I’ll have a go at the first one, when someone made a remark which changed my day. People, in general, I have found don’t go out of their way to ruin someone’s day. But it’s the rare hurtful, spiteful remark that sticks in your memory as apposed to the many complimentary ones. When my husband and I emigrated to our new country in 1972 there were still the few here who were opposed to migrants. Ignorant people. We had just given birth to our first little Australians and I mentioned to someone, on a rare night out, about our three month old twins. This awful man said something despicable about them, saying it’s a pity they’d survived! It made me sick and caused me to regret our decision to leave the UK. I’d never been on the end of a racist remark before in my life and it made me aware of how hurtful words can be. Racism is the pits. |
